Fun Day At The Zoo!

On Friday we had a fun filled day at the zoo! I know it's a bit of a late update but I misplaced my camera until this morning so I had no choice. LOL I know silly silly me. Anyways, my company had an event (quarterly award ceremony) from 12:30 p.m. to 3 p.m. at the Dallas Zoo that yesterday so I figured it was a great opportunity to have a fun day at the zoo with my favorite two guys! Lloyd took the day off (which isn't hard to do with your Father-in-law as your boss! ;) and met me up there with Mr.T at 3! I was super excited all day and couldn't wait to see if my little guy was at all interested in the animals. He did have a little fun but I think he could have had the same amount of fun at home. LOL Nonetheless Mommy and Daddy had a bunch of fun and a ton of pictures! At the last minute a friend of ours (Melanie) and her son decided to join us! I was glad they got to come along! We hadn't seen her in awhile so it was good to catch up and gaze at the amazing animals! Now I kind of went picture crazy so you will have to excuse me! We got some great shots though!

Catching a bite to eat before hitting the habitats! LOL

MMMM...is that burger good Lloyd?

Tristan decided that his bib would be good enough for him! Melanie and Jackson - We love you guys!
That's one yummy hot dog!
Mommy gave big boy his meal
Then it was off to see the birds! There weren't that many for some reason but we did get to see the Eagles. They really are beautiful. These pictures don't do them justice. This guy's beak was quite large! His head was about the size of a soft ball!
This Eagle (some species I don't remember the name of!) had a very weird head. He kept spreading his wings and I wanted a picture of it sooo bad! Unfortunately I am not that skilled so this was the best picture I was able to get!
Baba's loves turtles! Okay so maybe we love them for him. LOL His room is full of turtles - in fact his bedding set is called Turtle Bay! Anyways, they had a lot of turtles and even a big statue of one. Tristan and Daddy had a lot of fun posing on this one!
Smile for the camera!
One of these guys was super fast! He kept going all over the place! The others just kinda laid around. LOL
Look at the turtles Tristan!
Gotta have his Momma!
The next stop was the Tigers. They were locked up pretty tight so I wasn't able to get any close ups but there was one gorgeous female tiger laying in the grass. She got up and starting pacing when we were there so we got a little nervous! We did read up on them and enjoyed all the interesting facts about this amazing animal. Lloyd got a little frisky with model! LOL
Look at that claw!

The monkeys were around the corner from the Tigers. Pictures were really hard to get but we got an AWESOME video of the monkeys chasing birds! Once I figure out how to load a video on here I will add it. They were funny little guys!

Behind bars (I felt kinda bad for the long limbed guys!)
They did have an elephant too but she was by herself. We didn't get to see her for very long because they were bringing her in for some reason. Maybe that's where all the hefalumps were!
The Rhinos were very photogenic. They were like seriously posing for people - it was so funny. They would like put one foot in front of the other and stop and stand there while people took pictures! They were soo big and their horns were kind of scary!
They were the only animal Tristan showed interest in. He screamed at them - I think he wanted to play with em'! I don't think that would have been a very good idea so we just let him peer from far away! :)
The cheetah was apparently having a leisure day. After all it was Friday! He was gorgeous but also a little scary!
I thought it was kinda funny that they put the cheetah next to all the deer and stuff! This guy was sleeping really oddly. I thought it was an interesting pose so I had to get a shot!
Another deer looking thing I don't know the name of!
These guys were awfully smelly! Not to easy on the eyes either. LOL They were scoffing and scraping the feet in the dirt! We sang the song from The Lion King to them because they reminded us of Pumba!
Another sculpture! This one was just as ugly as the creature itself!
I put this hat on him because I was worried he was going to get over heated! I got an ice water when we got there and I would dip the hat in there every so often and put it back on his head. At first he didn't like it but then he got to were he wanted me to keep it super cold! It made me feel better about taking him out in the semi heat. LOL He is so cute in hats!
Heading out after a long day of fun!

Of course we had to stop by the gift shop on our way out and grab a picture frame so we can get one of these great shots and cherish it forever! We had such a great time and can't wait to go back - hopefully when it's a little cooler outside. I really want to go to the Aquarium next time but we'll save that for another adventure!

4 Month Check Up!

Okay on Tuesday Mr.T (hehe) had his 4 month check up. Obviously, it's a bit after his four month birthday but you know doctors and how they love to reschedule. We actually had the appt. set up to be two days after he turned four months but they called and rescheduled due to the doctor going to vacation. Anyways, Tristan is doing GREAT! He weighed 17 lbs. and 1 oz. (77th percentile) and was 27 inches tall (94th percentile)! They said he's grown about two inches a month and gained just over two pounds a month. They were impressed with his excellent rolling skills. If you let him he'll roll all over the house! He's also been showing a lot of interest in crawling. Obviously he still doesn't quite get the "on all fours" concept but he tries really hard! He can actually wiggle around a lot and is pretty good at going backwards! It's really cute but you have to watch him like a hawk or you might loose him! The doctor expects Tristan to get his first tooth in about a month or so. Obviously you can't say for sure when they will come in but you can see the whites coming through so they're bound to be here soon! I wonder which will come first - crawling or first tooth? I guess we'll just have to wait and see!

One of Tristan's other latest interest is The Backyardigains. He absolutely LOVES to watch them. It amazes me that a four month old will sit and watch a TV show for thirty minuets straight. And if you turn it off or pick him up mid show he will scream until he gets to watch it again! They actually are pretty cute and the songs are quite catchy. Lloyd wants him to be Pablo (the penguin on the show!) for Halloween but I'm not so sure about that. We will have to see about that as well!

Here's some cute ones of Mr.T watching his favorite show and getting around!

Watching Backyardigains!

Leave me alone Aunt P! I managed to back up this far!
Put one hand in front of the other?
Get outta my face!
Where do you think your going!?

Our Time

So I have what some may call a bad habit. I call it our time. What am I talking about? Well, I take Tristan to bed with me every night. When my little guy starts rubbing his eyes and getting a little fussy I know it's time for night night. Most mommies would maybe give their little one a bottle, maybe rock them quietly in their room with the lights out or just hold them until they fall asleep then it's off to the crib. Not me. When Baba's gets to yawning I know it's getting close to my bedtime too (don't ask - it's what we've been calling him since he was two weeks old. I love my Baba's! :-) . I pick up my sugar and hold him close while walking through the hall to my bedroom. I've already turned out the bedroom light and turned on our bathroom light so there's just enough light for me to see. I grab our favorite fleece blanket and lay Tristan in the bed. I then snuggle up next to him and begin nursing Baba's. It's such an awesome time for us. I really believe there's no better experience for a mom than nursing her baby. Tristan automatically closes his eyes and a rests his little arm on my chest. I pull the blanket up over us and snuggle closely. We both fall asleep like this and snuggle for the rest of the night.

Some people might say it's a bad habit to get into now because he'll be in our bed for years. Well I say I don't care. I just love having my sugar pie there with me all night and sleep soundly knowing he's safe in my arms. I don't care if people say I'm spoiling my little guy because maybe that's what I want. I want Tristan to be spoiled rotten with love. He's going to know that no one loves him like Mommy and Daddy. My little guy is going to be allowed to crawl in bed with me for as long as he wants. I'm always in the mood for snuggling.

Of course Lana doesn't like it so much because she's been booted to the floor. Since we first got Lana shes slept in the bed with us - under the covers and everything. (See a pattern here? LOL) She was our baby before Tristan and doesn't really understand why we can't all sleep together. She tries to lay with Tristan as often as she can and loves to investigate him as much as we'll allow her. She's getting more and more used to Tristan and excepting that he's taken her place in the middle of the bed but she knows we still love her.

Tristan and I sleeping on the couch together when he was 24 days old. He was such a little guy!
Lana had to join us
Like I said Lana will try to lay with him whenever she gets a chance!
Morning Babas!
He loves our bed. Don't dare try and move him - he's not having it.
There's nothing more beautiful than a sleeping baby

Quick Layout

So I'm slowly learning more and more about digital scrap booking and it's been a lot of fun! This week we had a bonus and it was just a quick page but I learned to convert a picture into black and white and struggled over a text box. LOL Here is the finished product. Simple but I think it's cute. I've got a lot more learning to do - I'm still having to go back and double check how to do things. Hope you like it! I'll post week two's project as soon as I finish it! :-)

Celebrating Four Months!

So yesterday was Tristans 4 Month Birthday! I can't believe what a big boy he is! It's truly amazing to watch him learn every day and oh yes he learns something new every day! He has his four month check up soon and I can't wait to see just how much he really has grown! I'm not looking forward to the shots but that's another story. Anyways, last night we went out with my family to celebrate Tristan's latest accomplishments ;) We had a lot of fun even though Mommy was awfully sick and had to come straight home and get into bed. Oh man, I thought I had broken my fever and maybe I did for an hour but it quickly came back.

I was miserable last night - my sleeping schedule went like this yesterday: Woke up at 4:30 a.m. with fever and upchucking...that lasts until 7:30 a.m. when I decide that I should probably call in sick to work then I go back to sleep. Lloyd lets me stay in bed until noon when I stagger into the living room with our large comforter and bed head! (I know you wish I had a pic!) I lounge around on the couch trying to stay away from the baby but he's not having that then at 2:30 my fever spikes up to 100.00 and I get back in bed. I wake up at 4 p.m. covered in sweat believing I've broken my fever and hop on the computer to finish my scrap booking class. At 6 p.m. we get in the car to leave for Olive Garden and immediately my body starts aching. I manage to make it through dinner O.K. but once everyone is done Lloyd, Tristan and I head straight home. We get home at 7:30 p.m. and I make it to the bed about .5 seconds after we get in the door. At 8:30 Lloyd brings Tristan to me to eat and I pass out with Tristan nursing. I wake up at midnight to Lloyd taking Tristan away to his crib. I quickly pass out again. Despite waking up three times for about 20 minuets at a time I conked out until 9 a.m. when Tristan woke up. I am still tired and not feeling on top of my game. AND I have to be at work at one :( I probably shouldn't go in but I know I have too!

Anyways, that's enough complaining here's some cute ones from last night!

Mom and Dad

Neither one of them can quite figure out how to work their camera! ;)Mom enjoying her Mud Slide! Lol
Tristan's favorite dish is finger!
