2 Months Of Joy!

We've been having such a blast lately! We've been enjoying the summer festivities as much as possible and watching our little boy blossom!

Tristan Luke is two months old today! Our little man is growing so fast. At his two month check up he weighed in at a whopping 13.2 lbs! He's also grown 4 inches since he graced us with his presence. He is in the top 90th percentile for his height and weight - we couldn't be happier! The doctor said (and I quote!) "He's a text book baby!" (Can you tell Mommy and Daddy are proud as can be? Of course he's the most perfect baby ever!) They did say that he's a tall little boy and if he wasn't so tall he'd be a little big for his age! ;) Tristan has learned to smile and laugh (mostly when he sees Mommy, Daddy or Grandma) and is just the happiest little guy ever. He's starting to grab onto his play key set and learning to start the music on his play mat by swatting at a little ball. It's amazing to see him learning everyday. Before we know it he's going to rolling over and crawling all over the place!

Here's some pics of the birthday boy!

Isn't that just adorable!?

Unfortunately with his two month check up also came his first set of shots. He had to get 5 vaccines - one was oral and the other four were horrible shots! I think it hurt us more than it hurt him. He actually handled the whole thing very well. The nurse did it very quickly - two in each leg. As soon as the first needle pierced his little skin Tristan of course went into a short screaming session. It was so horrible to see him in pain but as soon as it was over and he was back in Mommy’s arms he calmed down and went to sleep. He actually did not run a fever at all or act sore like the doctor said he would. He was a little fussy for the rest of the day but he powered through it. Tristan Luke is a tough guy just like his Daddy. My sweet baby boy is so strong!

My poor baby - He tired himself out

On July 4th we had such a busy day! First it was out to Lavon to celebrate Nealys 10th birthday. She's becoming such a young woman! We enjoyed spending some quality time with most of Lloyd's family (We were short Lloyd’s dad and Doug's family) and also got to visit with Scott's parents (Lloyds sister Yomaida's husband LOL). Lloyd and Nealy rocked out on Guitar Hero Aerosmith while Priscilla, Tristan and I cheered them on. Of course we also got to see the little Brayden James - well I guess he's not little compared to Tristan! He's such the little star and was crawling around happy as can be! We hope Brayden and Nealy had as much fun as we did!

At 6 p.m. we left and drove to Garland to see Angel, Kevin and Baby Joshua. He's a little less than a month older than Tristan. We put both the little guys face to face and they just smiled away at each other! One day they're gunna be best friends! Lol It was so fun to see the look on Tristan’s face when he was able to lock eyes with Joshua. He really looked amazed - like whoa there's someone else my size! They were sooo cute together. We hung out there while Lloyd and Kevin played even MORE Guitar Hero - I guess Lloyd is practicing to become an All Star so by the time Tristan is able to play he can really show him the ropes!

THEN we all packed up and headed to my parents house for a late dinner and fireworks! My sister Angel is in town from South Carolina so she got to play and spend some time with Tristan and of course everyone else was admiring our perfect baby boy! Lol My dad cooked up a real feast of pork chops, bacon wrapped back strap, corn on the cob, deviled eggs and (more!) potato salad! Unfortunately by the time the fireworks started little Tristan was EXHAUSTED and quite fussy due to being passed around and busy all day. The poor little guy just wanted to be home in his crib so we had to take our food to go and get on the road. So we packed up and headed home. Right when we got home Tristan took his bedtime bottle and passed out for the night. Yes the whole night - in case I haven't mentioned we are BLESSED with a baby that already sleeps from 12 a.m. to 8-9 a.m. every night! So overall the day was a lot of fun and we had a great fourth!

Some (not so great!) pictures of the few fireworks we did get to see

Once again HAPPY 10th BIRTHDAY NEALY - WE LOVE YOU and HAPPY 2 MONTH BIRTHDAY TRISTAN LUKE!
